Please post all the common Terms, definitions and Formulas a newbie should know e.g
Calculating Load in WH
Power rating (watts) * Number of hours the appliance is used (hours) = WH
Battery Bank calculation
Wh * 1/Battery voltage * Number of days of storage * 1/maximum discharge = Ah @ Battery Voltage
Array required for Charging a certain battery bank
Ah * Charging Voltage * 1/0.77 panel+controller derating * % rate of charge (in fraction) = Watts, array size
Definitions e.g
Array: ??
Terms e.g
Panel wattage rating, how it is calculated etc.

Re: Terms, definitions and Formulas
We in fact have a glossary of common terms: http://forum.solar-electric.com/showthread.php?6136-Glossary
I quit expanding it because no one ever reads the reference material. -
Re: Terms, definitions and Formulas
@BB you are welcome. Please do point out any mistakes which I might have made.
@moderators Please merge the the two threads. and move it to Solar Beginners Corner (most viewed section of the forums) and sticky it.
Some terms need to be added to that glossary e.g Diversion Load and Opportunity Load
