    The picture in the IEEE artical is of my installation.  The turbine is a SWWP Skystream 3.7beta and there are 7kwh of solar on the roof.

    no its a grid tie system, the inverter and all control circuits are in the turbine. It communicates via a wireless remote. you can connect the remote to a computer to keep detailed data on whats going on with the turbine from power to rpms and much more.
