Have anyone configured a Xantrex Gateway for Wifi connection? There is no site survey in the menu
only ask for SSID and WEP password I guess, this way does not work for me, only connection made succesfully is via ethernet

    Re: Xantrex Gateway Setup

I have my gateway wired to my router, which has other gear wired in. But I remember when using it, that the wi-fi was twitchy, and having to walk many, many times back to the shop (about 1/3 mile away) to reset it. I'm out in the middle of nowhere, no internet for the gateway to connect. ( I have a +25db antenna with a high power/low noise radio I use to pick up my router from the house)
    Sorry I can't help

The ComBox is MUCH better than the gateway is. I haven't fired up the widget for the gateway in a month.

Remember that WEP wifi security is pretty weak. It is something that a dedicated hacker can break into in a few hours with a laptop (I think). If you have the only Internet connection in the area--Somebody may find it worth while to hack.

Any help is kindly appreciated. The yahoo widget is not good for me, so elemental level for me, there is no remote internet options to monitor the systems that I know yet. So simple information. I paid for that gateway like $400 bucks thinking it was useful for remote internet monitoring capabilities, like the ComBox.

    Thanks

I think you can only monitor the gateway, via the yahoo widget.

If you want remote capability via the web, see if you can return the gateway, and get the new ComBox
