Apr 10th 2012.
I have a line on a good discount, from the importer, for a 900Ah 48V NiFe Battery Bank that I suspect, someone ordered, and then bailed on. He sent a bulk email to all customers. about $28K, 41 cells, in series.
I just wish I got this kind of price on my 800ah bank
mods - delete this if it's out of line. wind-sun does not sell NiFe so I thought it OK to mention. I'll share info if someone wants it.

The post is okay, Mike.
Anyone interested should respond via PM though, please. -

I rec'd the same email about this bank of batteries, huge discount for someone who wants some Ni fe cells. I already have my 700 amp hr. bank set up and running and don't need any more. But darn, that is a bargain. By the way, mine have been operating for over six months now and are doing very well...we are quite happy with them. -

I was wondering what the usual price for the NiFe batteries would be. And where are the batteries at?
Also, even at $28,000, I am hoping to hear opinions on whether the batteries are worth it or not. I truly like the NiFe battery, I just don't know if it can be justified when Wind & Sun sells 6V Rolls 820ah batteries for a 48V setup for about $10,000, or about 1/3 the price. Will the NiFe batteries last forever, so they're worth it? I thought they went bad eventually. But even then, the $18,000 difference, at even just 3% interest in the bank, will generate enough to buy another battery bank every 20 years, so if the Rolls batteries can last that long, and of course the price remains stable, you'd have essentially the lifespan of the NiFe batteries for $18,000 less. -

Re: Fw: 900Ah 48V NiFe Battery Bank Available for Immediate Purchase
I've not had a chance to stress mine yet, but they hold up better in a 3-4 day stretch of clouds, than my old 400ah set.
I believe the batteries are in warehouse near the docks in Los Angeles. Truck shipping to a terminal will be cheap, to a house, where the trucker needs to bring a forklift, with him, will be more.
And these aren't "cutting edge" - just plain old Edison Alkaline Cells, in plastic cases instead of glass jars.
Supposed to get at least 10 years before needing an electrolyte change, and the metals don't cycle back and forth like lead plates do, so they last 50-100 years.
