Repairing grid tie inverters? Possible? Economical?

So has anyone actually repaired a grid tie inverter? Is it possible/economical?
What parts tend to fail? Is it prurdent to buy spare parts before the whole thing dies and parts are no longer avaialble?

If it is a good quality one it should be possible to repair it. The hardest part usually is getting a circuit diagram so you can see what does what and how the circuit works to know what to repair.

There are a lot of parts that can fail. One of the high stressed parts is the high voltage D.C. filter cap. In many central inverters they look like AC motor run caps in a large aluminum can with terminals on top.
