By the way--from earlier threads, this is just using/buying the Honeywell name--They appear to have no actual business/engineering contact with the wind turbine company.

Produces power with just 2 mph huh? That must be nano wattsq if there is such a thing!

At $600 maybe it is worth the hobby money, at $6k,, no thanks

Re: Honeywell’s Home Wind Turbine Goes on Sale Today!

I dont understand the drawings that go with it.. One shows 24v/500w another shows 24v/1.5kw batteries???
If it is capable of only charging a 24v/500 batter/ies then that means about 20 ah?? if we say a 50% discharge then the largest batter/ies can be 40 ahr?? Or am I not understand anything here??
Also $6000 seems a little high but cant really say as cant find its rated output at "average" wind speeds.
I may wait a few more days before buying a few of them.

Icarus im supprised a man with your education and qualifications you not know about nanowatts
I will try give you a condensed lesson so you be able to understand them.
Nanowatts comes from the abreviation of baNANOs that are fried in electric frypan using lots of electric WATTS . 8) Hope this helps you better understand

It is really hard to believe how a company like Honeywell would sell their name to a company making a shyster product like this. Maybe a big shot at Honeywell has an eight year old son that wanted to start a company?

Ducted turbines are a folly of some inventors despite millions having been spent on trying to develop one that works.

Actually they claim it starts spinning at 2mp (or whatever) I don't think it produces any real power until 10 mph or higher.

I like how they rate it based on a steady state class 4 wind area.

Umm, where exactly does one find a steady state class 4 wind area?
