Three phase power to grid tie inverter

I have a customer that has two sources of renewable power: 1800 watts PV, and around 500 watts hydro power (Stream Engine). His hydro unit puts out 120V three-phase power, which is converted to 24 volts DC for his current Trace inverter system. He wants to grid tie now, and I am looking for a way to connect both systems to the grid. Three phase power is not available from the electric utility. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Three phase power to grid tie inverter
Xantrex XW-4024 does gridtie. Let the genny as is charging the 24V battery bank and use the XW to sell back the extra power -
Re: Three phase power to grid tie inverter
Is there an Xantrex 24v XW inverter ? Those are capable of grid tie.Powerfab top of pole PV mount | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||

Re: Three phase power to grid tie inverter
Yes and Yes, they are feature wise identical to the larger 48V units -
Re: Three phase power to grid tie inverter
If possible, the customer would like to eliminate the battery bank altogether. Is there another way to connect the hydro to the grid? If not, we may recommend he keeps the batteries and goes with an XW inverter. -
Re: Three phase power to grid tie inverter
Battery is free in this case, and as long as its just used for sell to the grid should last for a very long time as it will basically just in float mode
You won't find any GT inverters for the direct Hydro -
Re: Three phase power to grid tie inverter
What about the Classic or any of the wind turbine inverters ? They generally require higher voltage, but that may just be a setting on the alternaters regulator.
Wind and hydro have the same turbine loading requirements, no freewheeling, dump loads......Powerfab top of pole PV mount | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||
