Hey all,
For an off grid cabin used a few days a month. Heavy wooded so I don't want even bother with solar panels (useless). I wish to use battery + inverter during the day then charge with honda generator 2200 watt at night. Will wire inverter directly to my circuit panel.
Looking to get 24V 200ah lifepo4 battery. And then the https://www.solar-electric.com/midnite-solar-mn3024diy-inverter-charger.html.
Questions:
1. What size cable between battery and inverter? about 5ft distance.
2. Do I need a circuit breaker between AC output and circuit panel box? if so what size?
3. Do I need a circuit breaker between inverter and battery? if so what size?
4. Wire size between generator and inverter?
5. Do I need a circuit breaker between inverter and generator?

3000 watt inverter on 220 A-h battery? You could use #0 wire from battery to inverter but I doubt you will see 3000 watts output for very long. Generator to inverter? #14 extension cord will work although you could increase this to #12 or #10. Definitely a circuit breaker between inverter and battery (can you imagine trying to unbolt a red hot connection if something were to go amiss?) No circuit breaker between generator and inverter as there is one on the Honda. As for circuit breaker from Inverter to panel can't help you there but it would be pretty big IMO.Island cottage solar system with appriximately 2500 watts of panels, 1kw facing southeast 1.3kw facing southwest 170watt ancient Arco's facing due south. All panels in parallel for a 24 volt system. Trace DR1524 MSW inverter which has performed flawlessly since 1994. Outback Flexmax 80 MPPT charge controller four 467A-h AGM batteries. Insignia 11.5 cubic foot electric fridge 1/4hp GSW piston pump. My 31st year.
