Intelligent inverter question
Hello,
I am new here and also when it comes to designing a basic 3x 375 panel system which is used to support the energy needs of a simple greenhouse.
What I have:
3 x 375W solar panels
1 x EPEVER MPPT Solar Charge Controller 40A 150V PV Solar Panel Controller
3 x Weize 12V 100AH Deep Cycle AGM
Plus all the needed cables/fuses and so on.
Question:
Greenhouse has multiple fans and misters to maintain 75% humidity overall and Min temp of 65F and Max temp of 85F all using 120V.
I want to have a system where when solar power is available, it uses solar power. ( around 300 W max)
When solar power is no longer viable it detects it and switches to house grid to continue to operate.
Basically I need an intelligent inverter that detects solar output and uses it and when solar is no longer available switched back to house normal power grid.
Any ideas how I can proceed?
Thank you.

Most modern inverters willl do that. I have an Outback VFXR3648 (3600 watts output, 48volt battery source) that I run in High Battery Transfer HBX mode. It will latch onto the grid when the battery voltage goes down to a setpoint you pick (eg 50vdc) and drop the grid when you get up to another setpoint you've picked (eg 53vdc). This leaves the pv to charge, and when on the grid...like overnight...the grid will carry the loads. If an non sunny period of time comes about, like winter, the inverter can be set to charge as well.

Thank you. This will give me a good starting point.
Edit: What do you think of this unit? Any other brands you think would be similar?

Any issues to consider if/when the Grid goes down?
Will plants BBQ or just be sickly for a day ?
Do you need battery backup ?

If the Grid goes down .... well I will have someone else to blame . .... I think that the 2x100A batts will do the job for the night if power goes down.
