Battery Charging Generator

I am off grid with a 17.1 KW system and have a Kohler 14 RESA generator to charge if need be. It has been a pretty cloudy day for the last couple of days. Yesterday the generator started up and shut down as programed. Today when it tried to start it shut down with a low voltage fault on L1 & L2. It will run fine with the breaker at the generator turned off. I have (2) of these generators and they both do the same thing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What had the voltage fault, the generator meter, or the inlet meter on the inverter ?

It was on the generator. I think I found the issue and it was a loose connection.
