Insulating paint additives worth it for off gridders?

Off grid power is generally more expensive than grid power. Which factors as a positive for insulating paint of course. 

But I just can't see paint making a really big difference. 

Thermal regulation is kind of overlooked in my experience. "Throw another log in the fire."

Short answer--Not much help with "white paint"... And the white paint only reflects relatively short IR wave lengths (i.e., from sun). No sun, no effect on heat flow.

I’ve had good results here in TERLINGUA using attic foil radiant barrier, along with a white tin roof.

The “insulated” versions using bubble wrap or whatever fail due to the high heat. At least here along the Rio Grande.
