Thought I found a needed CR2 battery in my fridge stored battery assortment. Exp date was 2010 for a 3 volt lithium battery. With a temp of 38F it measured 3.32 volts in spite of likely being well over 15 years old. Pretty impressive.

Though part of the secret of lithium battery longevity is juicing up the voltage from the factory. A lithium AA or AAA will measure around 1.75 volts instead of 1.55 volts. Which can also be a problem when using several such batteries in one device. Some will not work due to over voltage conditions.
