combine solar panel wirh batteries

At last got 500w 48v solar panels  and 8 12v 250 ah solar batteries now a 48v battery pack

Have a 5.5kw continiuos  hybrid  inverter also 48v

First would like to know how to connect to form  the 48 v panels to stay with the 48v.

would like advise

Robert

Need exact Vmp and Imp of panels. And exact brand/model/type charge controller.

Rough min and Max temperatures for your area would help.

Length of cable run from array to charge controller.

    How many 500 watt panels.

Mix and match work any existing panels?

    Etc.

Generally, for a 48V system, you will need at least 2, and often 3 panels in series, you want to feed a MPPT controller about 80 or 90V, so it can do it's downconversion.  And it's likely you will need a 150V rated controller, because in cold weather, 90v of panels can produce 120V open circuit before the controller starts up.  A 100V controller would be fried.

battery is gel battery 12v   8 pcs  so far I know can make 48 v 500ah  in 2 packs

inverter is  a 5,5kw continius hybrid  must ph1800   max batt discharge is 150a  charging 60a

do have all components to begin to install  , have also 2 extra 500w panels

if more inf needed let me know  this is Caribbean  temp is abot 30-34 C sometimes under 30 C

Do you have a link to the inverter/solar charger?

And it looks like you have Vmp/Imp values swapped with Voc/Ioc.

Looking for min/max Vpanel input voltages. Usually Vmp 72 volts or over... And if you have Voc over 140-150 volts is common.

To panels in series (and a bunch of strings on series (each parallel string with a series fuse or breaker in a combiner box) should be ok.

    Details matter.

Spec open circuit voltage (Voc) is always higher than voltage at max power (Vmp) because voltage drops as the panel warms in the sun.

In sizing strings, you need to adjust Voc (~59v?) up to adjust for the record low temperature at your location so the string voltage won't be higher than the controller max input voltage.

    Off-grid.

    Robocop,

If you can also link to the inverter-solar-charger product/specifications/manual, that would help... Really need to mix/match everything together. I.e., the array operational voltage range needs to match both the inverter's Vpanel input range, and (many times) the battery bank voltage too (12/24/48 volt all usually have different minimum array voltages).

I don't know anything about your inverter-solar-charger product.... Need the details.
