Felt battery terminal washers?

Never paid much attention to them in the past. Binge watching this youtube mechanic with 51 years experience and 12 years of making informative weekly youtube videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/scottykilmer

This, of all places, is where I learned that battery vapors can escape from battery posts and the felt washers helps protect your terminal connections. Huh.

I have used felt washers for years on my car batteries--And the terminals have always remained corrosion free (I now also use a spray can of terminal sealant).

Which is exactly what Scotty the mechanic recommends. The guy really knows his cars. Pretty brutal towards most manufacturers excepting Honda and Toyota and Ford trucks. He is honest though and honesty is often blunt.
