Felt battery terminal washers?

This, of all places, is where I learned that battery vapors can escape from battery posts and the felt washers helps protect your terminal connections. Huh.

    I have used felt washers for years on my car batteries--And the terminals have always remained corrosion free (I now also use a spray can of terminal sealant).

    Which is exactly what Scotty the mechanic recommends. The guy really knows his cars. Pretty brutal towards most manufacturers excepting Honda and Toyota and Ford trucks. He is honest though and honesty is often blunt.
