Anyone done a DC pool pumping system?

I am interested in removing my grid tie pool pumping system and adding a DC direct drive like the Lorentz system with a boost controlled and DC pump.

As a side question has anyone done a well pump direct off solar bypassing batteries...  I would think a large storage tank could benefit from daylight pumping direct from solar.

Looks like the PS2 controller (system) should interface directly from solar array to their DC pumps nicely.

The other way... Look for VFD controllers that take Solar PV input directly. And a pump+3 phase motor... Might be a bit cheaper (more research on your side).

Yeah I have been looking for such a beast in the 2-3 HP range AC.  I think the problem is the buck boost required to start the motor at low input and the variability for the solar input.
