Thermostat is turned down to lowest setting, and still partially freezes contents of box. I'm assuming that the thermostat needs replacing. Anyone have any suggestions on how to go about the repair?

    Hello Vinnie!

Not necessarily. It may just be that the burning chamber needs to be cleaned. After some time (say 6 months-1 year use) there is some scale buildup in that chamber that needs to be removed with a brush.

Look in the back of the refrigerator, there should be one tucked next to the chamber. If not, you need to get one or improvise your own "chimney sweeper". Turn off the fridge (you do not want to do that with a flame going). Remove the baffle that is inside the chamber and brush the inside of that chamber for as long as there is scale coming out of the bottom, where the burner is. Clean up that mess at the bottom, making sure that no scale is clogging the burner (maybe cover the burner somehow before you sweep...). Re-install the baffle in the chamber and voilà!

If this is not so clear, do a search on Youtube and you will find videos that will show you how to do this.

    Cheers!

    Louis R.
