48v generator

A local solar guy is buying a load of "barely used" 3000 watt gasoline generators that put out 48v.      Version had them for emergency backup for their cell phone system and is letting them go.        The asking price will be around $500.       Assuming these generators are in great condition do you think being able to charge a 48v battery bank with a 48v generator is the way to go?     Since they are designed to charge a 48v battery I'm assuming that they put out about 54v.

    If as described, they should be industrial quality and would be a steal! Wonder if you can get the manufacture and specs ahead of time? The average person will have no use for these.

         We'll see what they look like but If they were industrial quality I'd expect them to burn diesel, not gas, unless they are configured to run on gas or propane.

    We are far from average.
    Average people have no means to generate any electric power on their own.

    Solar hybrid gasoline generator, 7kw gas, 180 watts of solar, Morningstar 15 amp MPPT, group 31 AGM, 900 watt kisae inverter.

    Solar roof top GMC suburban, a normal 3/4 ton suburban with 180 watts of panels on the roof and 10 amp genasun MPPT, 2000w samlex pure sine wave inverter, 12v gast and ARB air compressors.
