So, Portugal has shown that an entire nation, albeit a relatively small one, can run off renewable energy for four days.   Yeah!

What nations will be next?   Germany, Denmark, Australia?   I suspect that USA won't be one of them . . .

    The  2008 recession is still having an effect and will  ,imho,  continue for another 20 or  so years... from an Economist who said, ''ASK YOURSELF WHAT THE EFFECT WILL BE ON YOUR PERSONAL FINANCIAL SITUATION, AND HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR YOU TO RECOVER THE 30 OR SO PERCENT YOU HAVE LOST?"
