Relay question

Looking for an inexpensive relay for a 12VDC motor driver with about a 10A capacity. Looked at the LY series (general purpose relays) and SSRs fronm Teledyne. The Teledyne ST24D25-16 looked nice because it has a built-in MOV and was easy to mount. Looking for something I can mount on a wood panel. Also, can the Teledyne switch DC loads even though it is rated for AC?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

    Re: Relay question

I believe these are for controlling AC voltage only, to turn off, the main AC power needs to cross zero volts, and then the triac/SCR will not fire.

What you want to control DC, is a FET or MOSFET switch.

Look for a fan/fog lamp relay at an auto parts store. Most will have a tab to mount the relay.

I know radio shack carries a 30 amp 12v relay as well. It's sealed and has a mounting hole built right in as well.
