in Solar Water Pumping #1
do you think this Sun pump would be good for a 140 ft well to trickle feed a cistern.... I only need 40 gallons a day and the well is a 3 gallon a minute roughly....I would want to run the pump on 1 small panel.
what pump do you think would be better for the money..??

    I would check the static water level in the well before buying any pump. If the well is 140 feet deep there's a good chance the static level, therefore the level the pump needs to be is lower than this pump will handle. In other words the total dynamic head (TDH) will be too much for this pump.

    static is about 90 but it might go lower in time. What pump is a better choice ???

    I don't deal in Sun Pumps so not experienced enough to recommend them or not recommend them. Grundfos and Lorentz are more often recommended, but more expensive. NAWS will have a better answer if you call them.
