I had a similar problem in that my water pump would overload the inverter if it tried to start while the inverter was in standby mode. So I cobbled up a second pressure switch set to a slightly higher tripping point that when activated, turned on a night light bulb. Eventually replaced the substandard motor with a high efficiency Leeson 1/4 hp and never needed the second pressure switch and load.
But now, with the price of solar so low, why not just leave the inverter running 24/7? That's what I'm doing now.
