    WB,

I am using the 4 gang switches between the batteries and the main DC buss. One on each of the L-16 banks. If I am using the MagnaSine at over 2kw continuous I power from both banks. Smaller loads I use one bank only.   Basically I have two systems side by side which can be connected togather if needed. 100% redundancy,  I do have to throw switches , reconnect a few things, etc but if I have a fail anywhere I can deal with it in minutes without running out to get somethings. I started with one bank of batteries and the Exeltech inverter. Scored the MagnaSine used, then bought the Rolls-Surettes for $20.00 on the way to the scrap pile. Bought the whole system where the Surettes were for scrap prices. System failed due to smoked FET's in the C-40 controller.  They had a cherry new SW4024 but they wanted $2500 for that, I didn't think an inverter that old was worth that so I passed on it. They still have that inverter. I got 26 Sharp NE-170's , a C-60, good, a C-40, blown FET's and miscellany for $400 cash. Just could not pass on that
