    AWESOME story, thank you for sharing it. I've extracted some antique machinery and old wood and coal boilers from tricky situations and found that fun, but your project is by far the coolest "extraction" I've ever heard of.

    On a semi related note, someone is tearing up the buildings at the dam on the Quackenkill river along route 2 in Grafton NY. I don't know if it was a hydro plant or some sort of feeding station for a city water supply but it seems like your kind of thing. Even if it wasn't a power plant, if the property is available for acquisition maybe it would be worth making into a power plant.

    Personally, I was very happy to see half way through that this was to recover the equipment for refurbishment and installation--Instead of selling for scrap.
