What is this battery?

Can anybody shed light on the type of batteries on this system I am working on?

TUDOR TIPO 5-DRP-100

Thats all the info I have.

They are large 2ft tall heavy duty, giving 2.3V per cell.

    To be honest our cells look a lot chunkier but I think it is that brand. Its a shame there is not and english version of the site and some of the links to data sheets are broken.

    God knows where they got these batteries from.

    Is it possible that the previous installer of this junk left out the regulator assuming that the batteries were seriously heavy duty and therefore posed little risk of discharge during the night.

    And is this valid. If so I could save the old folk some cash.

    Sorry I meant little risk of over charge not discharge since they put in the diode....doh.

    Who knows what the previous installer had in mind...I've seen lots of things that I could never figure out satisfactorily...except by saying, "well...I guess he just didn't own a level".
