DC disconnect size

Hello,
I need to install a dc disconnect fuse/breaker between my batteries and fused dc distribution panel. My power needs are small as I have 7 fused circuits running a few cfl's, water pump, and tv(all 12 volt). I have 6 t-105's in my bank. My question is....what determines the size of the fuse/breaker in the disconnect box? Thanks, Mark

    The gauge wire you have from the battery to distribution panel or max current the distribution panel can handle, the lower of the two is what determines the fuse size.

    The breaker is there primarily to protect ther wiring used. If your wire is not able to handle the complete full power draw of your dc loads then the breaker/fuse has to be matched to looking after your supply wiring and thus open circuit fuse or disconnect b4 the wiring capabilities are compromised.
