Home Energy Saver?

Ran across this on ebay while looking through the solar/wind items today:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Home-Energy-Saver-Save-100-Now_W0QQitemZ290215136610QQihZ019QQcategoryZ3240QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Somehow, it just seems like there is something not quite right about it...

Of course, I'm assuming that if such a thing actually worked, we would have heard about it a long time ago and everyone would be using one as standard practice. But maybe that's just me. :D

(Or...am I totally off base here?)

that i believe is nothing more than a large capacitor trying to correct the power factor of most loads being inductive. if i recall right i believe it was bb that said the utilities don't charge us by the inflated draw from a bad power factor, but it could possibly help to even some of the loads on a large sinewave inverter. personnaly, i wouldn't pay that much money to do something like that and that's if doing that would be worth it.
