Regarding the additional solar charge controller for the elderly couple, the Schneider MPPT 60, MPPT 80, and MPPT 100 are all highly reliable and proven solutions.
To recommend the most suitable model, could you please confirm the following details?
• Total solar panel capacity (W)
• System voltage (12V, 24V, or 48V)
• Existing charge controller model (if any)
• Battery type (Lead-acid or Lithium)As a general guideline:
• MPPT 60 – Up to 60A charging current, suitable for 12V/24V/48V systems, supporting approximately 800W (12V) to 3,200W (48V) of solar power.
• MPPT 80 – Up to 80A charging current, ideal for larger residential systems with higher energy demand.
• MPPT 100 – Up to 100A charging current, recommended for large residential or commercial solar installations.Recommendation for the elderly couple:
If their system mainly powers basic household loads such as lighting, a refrigerator, TV, or small appliances, the MPPT 60 is usually sufficient and offers the best value for money.
If they regularly operate larger loads such as air conditioners, water pumps, or other high-power equipment, the MPPT 80 or MPPT 100 would be a better choice.
All three models are user-friendly. Once the parameters are configured by the installer, the system can operate automatically with minimal ongoing maintenance.

If they are considering expanding their solar system in the future, it may also be worth reviewing the battery storage capacity to ensure it matches their energy usage and backup requirements. For many residential off-grid and backup applications, a LiFePO4 battery system in the 10–15kWh range is often a practical choice due to its long service life and minimal maintenance.
All three Schneider controllers are easy to operate. Once configured by the installer, the system can run automatically with very little ongoing maintenance.
Once you share the solar panel specifications and battery details, I'll be happy to recommend the most suitable controller for their system. If helpful, here is an example of a 15kWh residential LiFePO4 battery system for reference https://cmxbattery.com/product/51-2v-314ah-lifepo4-battery-16kwh-home-backup-power/ and https://cmxbattery.com/product/48kwh-lifepo4-solar-battery-51-2v-942ah-300a-bms-home-backup/

Hi Dave, Sorry that I can't help you with a replacement controller, but I had an unrelated question.
Why does NAZ have Conext equipment so cheap now? I was looking for a replacement battery temperature sensor and saw their pricing on the XW pro 6.8 at $1100.
As you may know my system is 10 years old and still running and at that price I may consider buying a spare.
By the way, I'm the guy who built a water chiller box for my Rolls 5000 series in the hot garage and the batteries are still going strong with most of the batteries from 2018 in the hot Georgia garage.Conext XW6848 with PDP, SCP, 80/600 controller, 60/150 controller and Conext battery monitor

The whole Schneider solar line is obsolete per Schneider. If you buy, you better do this soon as this is the 3rd sale here at the store to unload this equipment. They are selling Schneider Home now. It is a all inone type with a 400vdc LFP battery/panel/and car charger."we go where power lines don't" Sierra Nevada mountain area

Dave, thanks for your expertise.
I like the 6848 setup because I understand it and would be ok with staying with "obsolete" equipment but...
I'll probably go with lithium batteries next time. Do you know if the 6848 plays well with lithium or should I call the store and ask.
I remember you testing a Schneider lithium battery in your basement and I think you were using a 6848 for the testing.Conext XW6848 with PDP, SCP, 80/600 controller, 60/150 controller and Conext battery monitor

You need to 68 pro to close the loop. You should contact the store, they are great!
Almost 10 years ago with the LG/XW. It is still working fine😊"we go where power lines don't" Sierra Nevada mountain area

Dave, just found your charge controller "new" on ebay.

Several others, used and new.
Personally I rarely use E-Bay but generally they have done good by me when I do order something.
