IQ8-BAT curiosity

Hi.
So I bought a "open box" IQ8-BAT microinverter off ebay. I've confirmed its new and never been provisioned.
Problem is, I tried to provision and get it to operate but haven't yet been able to get it to talk to the cloud and get running. When doing a chat with Enphase, they said it doesn't talk on the power line communication like the other Enphase micros.
Does anyone have any experience with these? Anyone have any IQ8 battery systems? Opened one up and looked how it's built? Is it modular? Is it that I have an IQ7 system and the IQ8-BAT needs a System controller 2 or 3 to talk to? Even though the IQ8s are supposed to play nice on an IQ7 based system with the new Envoy/Gateway firmware.
As you can guess, I wanted to test this out with a wind turbine.
Thanks.
Pat

I've looked into it further. I tried to provision the IQ8X-BAT with all my IQ7s disconnected from the system. It says it provisions successfully in Enlighten but I still get the flashing orange which means no communication. All with the same result of listed as not communicating ever when you look at the status on Toolkit or Enlighten. There is a communication module that you have to install with the IQ batteries in an IQ7 system but that is with a complete battery module. They have a wireless and wired interface versions for the gateway to talk to the battery pack. That might allow it to provision and finally load the firmware and grid profiles. But testing would require me to have an IQ battery. Nope, not gonna happen. Don't need a battery pack and getting one just to test this out isn't worth the $1200+ for a used one. And I'm thinking that they control the IQ8X-BAT differently since it's only on/producing power when the system says to. Otherwise its probably in at the most a standby mode. It would be nice to know how it works though from a curiosity standpoint. I'd really like to know what is needed to get the thing to communicate. There is a circuit board or two in the battery as well as in the System Controller box.I'll keep tinkering, but for those who want to use it with their own batteries, it's not going to work. Ebay has at least one used one for sale and I've asked the seller if they powered it up and if so what's the color of the light blinking. No reply yet.Pat9000+W grid tied IQ7 22 panel rooftop and 6 panel ground combination with 1 additional IQ7XS connected to 500W wind turbine+200w solar+2 IQ7s with 300W+600W on the RV grid tied when it's in the driveway.
