Adding battery based XW Pro to an existing Grid-Tie

Adding the wattnode below allows XWP and battery to be added to an existing grid tie power system and get it's data out to Insight. This will allow full monitor/adjust of the system from anywhere on most anything.
Below Schneider is using AC1 input for their 200 A Back-up control switch. Very easy to have back-up on most any main panel without a subpanel. No need to rewire existing panel. Saves alot of labor. The BCS has breaker positions for 100 A up to 200 A to match your existing panel.
The screen below shows 4 XWP but in reality it can be just a single XWP and up to max 200A panel. It will limit export to the grid for alot of the new requirements and allow easy self consumption for folks wanting to add a battery bank.

Im planning on one of these setups.. How the heck do we integrate the backup generator with the BCS/XW configuration?

One of the most complex jobs I have done is doing a BCS installation. You need to be way up to speed on this or have someone who has done this a few times. The 3 that I have done are all different and earned every penny of my fee.
The answer to your question is you come in to the grid input with an A / B bypass with a rating equal or exceeding to the power you need/or use. The AC coupled power needs to be dealt with to protect the generator also."we go where power lines don't" Sierra Nevada mountain area
