Off Grid Schneider SW system - sell back to the grid

Hi there.

Customer currently has a functioning System that is only used if the grid goes down. Otherwise it sits idle.

Customer would like to make the necessary changes in equip to facilitate the system to be grid interactive (sell back excess solar production to the grid).

See below pic of system as it is now. I believe there is 16 - 480 watt panels (7.68kW) on the roof.

I would like to know what equip would be suggested, to enable this current system to be able to sell back excess solar production the grid?

Thank you,
John

Thats what I was thinking. Will have to make some room on the mounting board area......

Just for conversation: Here is what Schneider said:

"Thank you for contacting Schneider Electric Solar.

Please note that SW inverter can export to the grid only in an AC Coupled configuration."

What would you thought on this as an option Dave?

It would seem nutty to me. You would have to get a grid inverter to replace the mppt or add a second solar system to AC couple.

Agreed. Best bet then - replace the SW with the XW which can sell back.
Any more words off wisdom in doing so?
    Thanks Dave.

you cant find parts for an old sw system...the newer ones were built just for off grid and marine applications

the XW systems in the beginning started with 24 and 48 volt 4500 watt systems.....you cant find parts for those anymore....I have tried for years now....you might find a person here or there that can repair them...but it isnt worth it, it cost half of what a new one would

I actually found a brand new, made in 2022 still in the box XW6848  on ebay recently...they have more for sale.....paid $1500 total for it...shipping and all,as I write this they have 3 left...americassolarsurplus on ebay....they are new in the box...mine had dust all over it
I believe someone went bankrupt and someone else bought the warehouse with all this stuff in it at auction....I dont know....but mine works great....they have other things also
