There is much debate about clamping Lifepo4 cells of the EVE and Lishen type. I've seen studies that show it is not required and a lot of people that just prefer it. The main thing I could discern was allowing space between the cells if not clamped together to allow the cells to swell without shearing the terminals/posts.

I personally place a thin sheet of Kydex or Mylar between the cells and clamp the pack tightly together using thick sheets of linen phenolic (aka Micarta) and threaded rod. Be careful not to overtighten.

The threaded rods make a nice place to fit an aluminum sheet for which to attach a low power heating element, one on each side, to provide a great heat spreader for the winter months.

I got my micarta free from a friend that works in an electronics assembly industry local to me. It's used in knife making as well. I've seen many guys use thick plywood too.
