24v charging

Trying to minimize my gen run time. I have a 912ah bank 24v. How long should I run to achiev min/full charge? I typically start it at 50% DOD. But it will run for 2 or more hours to read 100 on trimetric even tho it goes to float right away...

    Welcome to the forum Dnguskahn,

    Can you tell us a bit more about your battery bank? Flooded cell lead acid? Forklift/Traction batteries (2 volt cells * 12 in series)? Or some other battery type (AGM, etc.)?

    Have you been measuring the specific gravity of the cells (typically measure all cells and log temperature corrected specific gravity for FLA cells)? Usually pick one pilot cell to monitor for the next month...

    What amperage/voltage are you charging the bank to? Have you measured (and logged) each 2 volt cell voltage (during charging, discharging, etc.--Looking for cells that are too high or too low of voltage)?

    If flooded cell, how often do you have to add (distilled) water?

    Details matter here to ensure that your batteries are properly charged/operated.
