combine AGM with Lithium in the same battery bank?

good morning.
I am a bit of a novice, trying to upgrade on a shoestring.

I was following a thread here about the feasibility of combining AGM batteries with Lithium in the same battery bank, but I failed to bookmark it and can no longer find it. Or maybe I was dreaming.
anyway, I have a 48 volt system, 8 AGMs, about 3 years old. They have been severely abused and possibly degraded and approaching an early EOL.
I am a pig so I need/want More Battery.

as I recall the modern BMS for the Lithium packs have a similar charge profile and could be compatible.
maybe I am crazy.
