Upgrade a XW6848+ with XW6848 Pro Firmware. posible?

Hi. in the past I used to rename the XW6848+ firmware with the name of the XW6048 firmare, so and old XW6048 can run with the latest firmware of the XW6848+. I have done this with more than 10 installations thats have been working no problems at all for several years.
now, the new question, is it posible to upgrade an XW6848+ with a XW6848 Pro firmware? 
have anyone try it?

    XW pro was built to to add functions that XW+ did not have memory for.

     I was told it could not be done during the field test here. That usually means you could brick XW+.  Be careful !
