I have two 6 volt batteries wired in a series where do I make my power inverter connection to the same battery or opposite ends

Kind of confused as to whether you are actually series wired. You should have ONE series interconnect cable connected to the positive (+) of one battery and the negative (-) of the other. Your charging and load connections go to the open pos. and neg. ends. Get yourself an inexpensive multi meter to verify the voltage. Do some reading and maybe watch a few Youtube videos on using the meter. They are indispensable for checking and verifying voltage, polarity etc.
