Did I have to upgrade my Midnite Kid software?

i have a 2 off grid homes . Yes one just wasn't enough. The cabin is a small system . 2 gc batteries kid controller , 300 suresine , 280w panel. I have never loaded new soft wear to the kid . It has always worked. Is it worth it to updait ? I have boot loader 2.1. 
Off grid since 1984. 430w of panel, 300w suresine , 4 gc batteries 12v system, Rogue mpt3024 charge controller , air breeze windmill, Mikita 2400w generator . Added 2@ 100w panel with a midnight brat

    I see the latest FW is Rev 1811 from Sept 2015.  Which Rev is installed now? ...  there are always improvements being made...

    I don't know which I have . I bought it when they first came out about 2 years ago .  Guess I'm going to have to read the book and find out !
    U need a real computer not a Mac to update .

    if it was a BETA version you will need a special boot loader from Ryan at MidNite dot com

    it's simply a click and drag and drop process...  not at all like the Classic process... which can be extremely frustrating...
