    Hi juststarting,

    Welcome back to the Forum.

This re-charge as Schneider calls it, begins a new charge cycle on a given day, some other Charge Controllers (CCs) call this ReBulk.

It is generally of limited use in off-grid systems -- although, perhaps if one had a large, intermittent load, like a well pump, or similar, this function might do some good.

Your choice of voltage is not a bad way to start, and try to see how this is working.

This function will do little in the way of trying to maximize the State Of Charge (SOC) as the sun is setting, unless it was triggered by a larger load in mid-afternoon, and the CC was in Float. Later into the afternoon, when the sun is fading, there is so little additional PV power available to do any meaningful battery re-charging. If one has other sources of Renewable Energy like wind, or hydro, Re-charge could be more useful.

    Good Luck, Vic
