Akasol's neeoQube wall hung lithium battery modules seem more useful with existing PV / Inverter hardware than the Tesla Powerwall.
Specs:
48 V, 106 Ah, 5.5 kWhr, up to 98% "efficiency", 7000 cycles, 90% depth of discharge, low self consumption battery management system.
10 year warranty, stackable to 5 units.

German battery specialist Akasol presents the third generation of its fast charging lithium-ion energy storage systems at the Electrical Energy Storage 2015 (ees) in Munich next week.
The new generation of energy storage systems has an expanded number of full cycles by 40 % from 5,000 to 7,000 and an increase of the depth of discharge (DoD) from 80 % to 90 %. Additionally, the intrinsic energy consumption of the battery management system has been reduced.
The maintenance-free batteries are available as neeoQube, neeoRack and neeoSystem and have a 10-year warranty and a lifetime of 20 years. Amongst other regulations, the systems meet the international safety standards IEC 61508 and ISO 26262.
The neeoQube energy storage is suitable for wall mounting and can be connected in parallel with a second neeoQube, which doubles the capacity from 5.5 kWh to 11 kWh. Already installed systems can be retrofitted to 11 kWh. neoQube also received the RedDot product design award 2015.
The neeoSystem is a scalable system that consists of an energy management system with up to five neeoRacks, which have the same technical data as neeoQubes. For large-scale installations with electricity outputs above 1 MW, the company also offers neeoMega, a liquid-cooled storage system with capacities from around 100 kWh up to several MWh. You can find Akasol at the Electrical Energy Storage 2015 in Munich in Hall B1, Booth 134.

I almost spit coffee on my computer monitor when I saw the cost. LOL
You can stack LiFePO4 RC car packs, build your own power wall and make it safer than tesla, or Akosol.
Stick to lead acids, none of the lithiums on the market are worth the price yet. -

17,000 AUD is currently only 13,000 USD. A real bargain, not.SMA SB 3000, old BP panels.
