Fuuzy plates in battery.....?? truck batttery not solar but related??

I remember reading a while back about fuzzy or mossy plates a while back ... but never thought I would see it in real life. Pickup would not start after sitting for 3 days since last run.. 80% SoC and 12.6V so I charged it for 15 minutes at 15A and off we went.
Later investigation showed electrolyte still above all plates and a fuzzy coating in one cell in the middle of the 6 cells...??? that 1 cell had lowered level compared to others.

Motomaster Eliminator (Canadian Tire) Battery in service April/ 13. Has a 3 year replacement warranty. I think I am going to take it back...

Comments as to cause or just manufacturing defect??

ADD: Left cell fuzzy, center and right OK, I think...

    Sulfate, not a doubt. Take something plastic and see how hard it is. Sometimes a EQ will knock it off, sometimes it won't.

    Crap tube battery = cheap junk , visit Lordco & buy an AC delco black bottom case. PM truck & info & ill get ya the series type .

    Crap tube,auto zone,pep boyz, and many others sell bottom brand & hope on you losing the warranty .
    Weigh your crap tube batt against a AC delco .
