I know im asking many questions but thats how I learn and I rely on this forum.
If I would build my own turbine with an axial flux generator ( hugh piggot) style , what would you recommend?
Inner rotor or outer rotor? I read that inner rotor have more cooling.
And if you check those links they start from few inches up to 28 inches in diameter.
Whats more recommended for a turbine project?
Larger diameter with less rpm 100-150 or 150-300? Or medium size with more rpm?
Thank you in advance for all your good answers. God bless

Re: axial flux generator question
You might also try some other forums that are wind centric:
www.otherpower.com (good forum for DIY Wind Power)
Hugh Piggott - Scoraig Wind Electric site for tons of info (from mike90045)
Scoraig Wind "Recipe Book" for DYI Turbines (from Chris Olson... From his 4/11/2013 post)
www.greenpowertalk.org (added from "russ"--Like here but more wind/less solar)
We tend to have fewer folks here on the wind side of renewable power.

Re: axial flux generator question
Agree. Seems a number of us here, myself included, have tried small scale wind, and after finding out the hard way we'd get far better results with solar, gave up on wind and concentrated on trouble free and far more productive solar. But to each their own.You might also try some other forums that are wind centric:

Just asking, is there a disadvantage if the core area of a generator is so small?
