I will be performing some maintenance on the server that runs the forums and upgrading the forum software today. During this time, the forums will be shut down. Hopefully everything will be up and running smoothly later today. I will be shutting down the forums sometime in the next hour or so.

Ok, the forum software has finished updating and hopefully it has fixed the errors we've been seeing. If you see any problems or error messages, let me know.

Are you still running the old version of VB? Looks like 4.2.2

Yes, I spoke to the vBulletin support and they recommended upgrading to version 4.2.2 before going to version 5. When I looked at the minimum requirements for version 5, the manual said we had to be running a newer version of PHP. So I upgraded the PHP version on the server. But apparently the 4.2.1 version of vBulletin that we were running wasn't compatible with the new PHP version. So the vBulletin support recommended upgrading to 4.2.2 which is compatible with the new PHP. They said if everything works ok, they recommend waiting to upgrade to version 5 because they're still working out the bugs in it and once we upgrade to version 5, it's almost impossible to go back to version 4 because of the upgrades to the MySQL database. So I think we should stick to this version of vBulletin if we don't see any problems and wait a while before going to version 5.

Makes sense. I think you can actually have both versions running at the same time for testing, since the new 5.+ has to go into a new directory, but it would probably mess up the database so I would not even attempt it. I thought they had 5+ fixed, guess they found some new bugs.
