what are top 2 sinewave inverters 2500-3000 watt available now or in 2014..??
How do you wish to define "top"?
There are quite a large number of inverters available which are each as good quality as another, features aside.
What you want to avoid is no-name units (no guarantee the company will be there tomorrow), ones with confused, poorly-written descriptions (claims made for the product could be false), and things with ridiculous output power for the input Voltage (10kW 12 Volt inverter would be an example).
Otherwise you're looking at comparing features and function. Sometimes the specs come up short on telling you what you want to know (such as THD). Other times you need to trade off one aspect for another according to your needs. For example all inverters of the same output power do not have the same self-consumption and/or conversion efficiency but 'worse' ones may have some other feature that fits your needs better. So, for example, you get one that consumes more power but costs less.
does Sunny Boy make a non grid tie inverter in that size??
No; they (SMA) do not make any non grid tied PV inverters. They do make the Sunny Island, which is a battery inverter that can work off the grid but it has no PV capability.
Comments
Are you looking for Inverter-Chargers (and generator support ability)?
Any monitoring? Efficiency at light loads an issue? 120 or 120/240 VAC? Ability to operate with a GT Inverter in AC Coupled mode?

The company is SMA, the smallest they make is 4.5kW: http://www.sma-america.com/en_US/products/off-grid-inverters/sunny-island-4548-us-6048-us.html
As 'coot says, you first need to define "top". Xantrex, Magnum, Outback, SMA, Victron, Studer are all 'top" but offer slightly different features.
