Xantrex TM500A

I have acquired a TM500A for a popular price (free), but with the proper Deltec 500A/50mV shunt, it constantly reports +200A or more going into the batteries (even when the charge controller is sleeping), so there is something wrong somewhere. A DVM reading of the voltage drop on the shunt shows expected +/- values otherwise, so I am assuming the TM500A itself has something wrong. Is there any tech support/repair available for this thing anymore? I am having trouble finding anything online.

Bogart Engineering is still around and, from what little I have read, has pretty helpful tech support people:

Double check the voltage at the meter inputs too... Sounds like there is an offset voltage or broken wire/trace/dirt on PCB/etc.. problem.

I am thinking that Bogart will not want to help with Xantrex/Schneider. Maybe I am wrong..... Hello Bill!

Bogart built it for Xantrex. All it is is a Trimetric in a Xantrex case.

    Hi Dave!

    Been keeping in Trouble?

That is what I recall--I believe that Bogart made Battery Monitors for several different customers (I think they also did it for some of the Apollo integrated MPPT+Battery Monitor charge controllers).

If they can help--I don't know.
