But large swaths of the globe remain without this modern necessity. About one-fifth of the world, or 1.3 to 1.6 billion people, live in energy poverty, mostly in sub-Sahara Africa and parts of Asia, and to a smaller extent in Latin America and the Middle East.

    I wonder how long before the con artists start some "Solar for Africa" charity to sucker people into investing in solar installs in 3rd world countries - installs that never get built. :grr
