Chest freezer to refrigerator conversion w/o new thermostat

I was researching how to make my new kegerator and came across a thread about how to adjust the factory thermostat on a chest freezer! I immediately thought of this forum, it's a really long thread, w/ lots of pics of different brands of freezers and thermostats. Should save quite a bit of money for all of you looking into the conversion.

This particular forum is obviously educating and also informative. I have picked up many interesting stuff out of this amazing forum. I’d love to return over and over again. Thanks!

SOME freezer thermostats may indeed be adjustable to the extent you need, and some people on this form have reported they've done it, but none of the three conversions I've done were so adjustable, so I had to devise another way to control the compressor. Hopefully you can adjust yours to the extent required, but don't assume you will be successful. Time will tell.
BTW, I find best results with the temp set as close to freezing as possible without actually freezing anything. Food lasts far longer, just no comparison. But to each his own for his own reasons.
