Power economizing

This is a true newbie question.... the outside low voltage lights currently run through a standard Malibu transformer down from 115ac from the inverter....Would it worth the trouble to remove the transformer and hook the lights directly into the batteries..They are all LED Bulbs so the drain is not too significant........In other words, would the savings be worth it by bypassing the transformer...
Thanks

Re: Power economizing
Probably not. The transformer & DC supply won't use much power in themselves. Savings would come if this enabled you to shut off the inverter entirely.
You can measure the current & Voltage going to the lights on the DC side and the same on the input to the transformer and compare the figures to see how much power difference there is.
