Turnigy 130A can I use this

I have a new xantrex c35 charge controller that doesn't have a display. I was wondering if my Turnigy 130a could be set up to display the output from this controller, I bought this and never used it but don't know if it is designed to do this . http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10080

if you have it go ahead and try it. my only concern may be with the small gauge wires that the meter would employ, but on small current flows you may be ok. -

I did try it and it didn't seem to read proper I put the source on the dc out from my windmill and the load on the battery. (just easier than the solar no disconnection needed to try it) my clamp meter read 2 amps but the 130 read like .3 amps. It did read the battery voltage correct. Am I hooking it up correctly? It seems I have two sources of power this way and no load. -

any other thoughts on this? -

1. It may not be accurate for pulsed DC as opposed to clean DC from a battery to a load.
2. You may have wired it wrong.
3. The comments at the site you listed suggest that compared to an alternative, the Tgy is more sensitive to electrical noise, which you could easily have on either windmill or CC ouput. See point number 1.SMA SB 3000, old BP panels. -

I have one of these. It is a knock off of the popular Watt's up meter which I also have. They both work well for their intended use and do handle rapidly changing DC current well ( I mostly use them on my ebike).
They are meant to be hooked up with a voltage source (battery or other DC power source) and a load. They can be used to measure current from a battery charger to a battery if hooked up correctly. Perhaps the voltage from the windmilll is not consistently high enough to work as source relative to the battery?? -
Re: Turnigy 130A can I use this
I bought this a couple of years ago when I got my windmill because one of the forms I was on said it would measure the amps and watts also the battery state. I just never use it but now I would like to try it because my new Xantrex c35 has no display. I will try it again see what happens. -

possibly too much ripple from the turbine?
