    It looks like Samsung and Hyundai are both giving up on solar http://www.greentechmedia.com/articles/read/Korean-Exodus-From-the-Solar-Industry

    It also looks like a couple of the Chinese companies may call it quits or consolidate. Yingli, JA Solar, and Rena Solar will probably survive, but some others are a bit iffy.

    In the boom years when solar manufacturing was hot, dozens of new companies started getting into it. But then demand dropped drastically as massive subsidies and tax breaks started going away. Coupled with a huge oversupply, solar panel prices dropped to record lows - at least for now. But there are indications that prices may hit bottom soon as the huge cutbacks in production are gradually having some effect on the oversupply. You can only sell panels below cost for so long before it bites back...
