anyone take any of the above classes?
were they worth the monye or just a rehash of the installation manual?
Any other recommendations for solar education? Preferrably online. I know naceb offers some classes, but most require a lot of travel.

The SMA classes can be very informative on the ways to use their equipment, but they assume a basic understanding of the technology. NABCEP itself does not offer training, but there are NABCEP accredited training institutions (some private, some public) at many locations in the US. -
Re: solar education classes
any one take any courses from
http://www.solarenergy.org/solar-training-renewable-energy-workshops
they are online and convienient, but seem like they might lack much interactivity, more solo reading and studying I guess. -
Re: solar education classes
i watched some classes at
www.ontility.com
they were pretty much what I expected speakers with powerpoint.
they are decent, but if you like reading I'm guessing you'd get more out of a good book. -

That's all well and good, but IMO nothing beats a classroom experience with a good instructor, motivated classmates that ask a lot of questions, and hands-on lab work.

Re: solar education classes
What about this online education website.
They have different courses for solar energy.

Re: solar education classes
I prefer this one: http://www.solarenergy.org/
but it think solar education is best learned if you are inside the classroom with your professor and classmates. online learning in this field will only give you theoretical knowledge. -

And solarenergy.org, (SEI), offers that experience. The online courses are a fairly recent option for SEI.
