I was searching for DIY (do it yourself) solar car port with certified wind loads
and I found this web site:

http://www.premiercarports.com/Solar.html

Does anyone else know of any other companies that create a similar product? From the little research I've done most companies insist on doing a turn key operations with labor and materials and few allow DIY kits.

Seems like for the same price as a unirac system I can have a carport designed and install it myself.

edited to add: they quoted me about $0.80 per watt for the materials ONLY, labor, concrete footers and actual solar rack system to go on top is extra.

    http://www.floriansolarproducts.com/waterproof.html

another one, it uses the panesl and gasketing to make a water tight roof ! pretty cool.

3x16 array with 48 panels, ball park price for materials ONLY is $30,000. Seems very high......I could get a stick built tool shed installed for that price.

Maybe hiring a PE isn't that bad of a deal. LOL.

edited to add, exact price was quite a bit less, but still more than the solar panels:
The material cost for a PV-SP14LP with 16 sections (holds 48 Sanyo bifacial panels by others) is $23,523.00. The add-on cost for a Florida PE stamp on our shop drawing is $1,200.00.
